The back story

Tel Aviv on two wheels, on the water and on the road

In depth·Tel Aviv

A flat city by the sea: shared bikes, the marina, and the coast road north to Caesarea and Haifa.

Tel Aviv is flat and compact, and much of it is best seen by bike: Metrofun’s shared bikes cover Tel Aviv, Herzliya and Ramat Gan, and the promenade and Rothschild Boulevard have cycle paths. The Tel Aviv Marina and the marina at Herzliya are the bases for sailing, and the coast road leads north to Caesarea and Haifa for a day.

By bike

Metrofun’s shared bikes, docked across the city.

On the water

The Tel Aviv Marina and Herzliya Marina.

On the road

The coast road to Caesarea and Haifa; Porsche Israel’s service centre in Hod HaSharon.

Cycle the promenade early, before the heat, and leave the car for the day trips.

Our advice: parking in the centre is scarce; take the light rail or a bike in town.
